So why has Tesla been so successful in Europe?
In addition to the brand's reputation, the Tesla Model 3 is a top-of-the-range product, with a host of features of its own, more than respectable performance, especially in terms ofautonomy. All at a price which gives it access to the environmental bonusThis made the Tesla Model 3 very affordable.
The number of sales has risen year on year to exceed 1,300,000 electric vehicles delivered by 2022.
Today, the cost has risen slightly, due to certain crises and in particular the shortage of semi-conductors. But for all that, the Tesla Model 3 is not stifling its success with more than 2,717 vehicles sold and delivered in February 2022 alone. This trend is set to continue in 2023, thanks to a price cut of €8,500, making the electric saloon available at €44,990 and eligible for environmental bonus 5,000. If you still don't understand Tesla's success, let me give you five reasons why you should choose a Tesla.

Tesla: the most efficient electric vehicles on the market
As stated in the introduction, Tesla offers the most efficient electric vehicles on the market. The American firm offers hyper-efficient electric cars with the best range and performance on the market.
The world's fastest electric vehicles
If you like speed, you're in for a treat. Tesla offers the fastest electric vehicles on the market and even outperforms combustion engines. The proof is in the Tesla Roadsterplanned for 2024, will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds, making it the fastest car in the world. To make this possible, Tesla is relying on a feature that is unique to electric vehicles: instant acceleration.
Unlike a thermal vehicle which needs to rev up and be in the right power range to deliver strong acceleration, the electric car accelerates instantly. The vehicle's system simply transmits all the electricity it needs to the motor to accelerate, all without transition. Tesla amplifies this phenomenon by the power of the engine built into the vehicle, as well as the aerodynamics provided by these smooth designs, which reduce air friction and promote acceleration.

Tesla and its long-range models
Tesla has turned the weakness of electric vehicles, AKA range, into its strength. Once again, aided by a very streamlined design that reduces air friction, by a battery Tesla defies all competition in terms of the efficiency and range of its models.
The Model 3 entry-level model alone is capable of driving up to 491 km according to the WLTP. This is a real technical feat that very few competitors can achieve. On average, competitors offer a range of around 300 kilometres with a battery of around 50 kWh.

Make savings on usage
Everyone knows that electric cars cost much less to run than internal combustion vehicles. The reason for this is the sharp rise in fuel prices. On average, the Tesla Model 3 will consume 169 Wh/km, which works out at an average cost per 100 km of €5.10 if you alternate between recharging at Superchargers and recharging at your home station. By way of comparison, the average internal combustion engine consumes 6 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres.
Today, the price of SP95 is around €2 a litre, so for 100 kilometres that works out at €0.12 a kilometre. If you drive 10,000 km, driving a Tesla Model 3 will cost you 510 euros for electricity, compared with 1,200 euros for a conventional internal combustion model.
This only takes into account fuel prices, but choosing to drive a Tesla also saves you on maintenance costs! Electric vehicle engines are made up of many wear parts, which makes them much easier to maintain.
Recharging speed
Another weakness of the electric car that Tesla has managed to compensate for perfectly is the speed with which its batteries can be recharged. Tesla batteries are capable of recharging at more than 170 kW. This is in line with Tesla's strategy of offering its customers charging that is not restrictive, with the deployment of Tesla superchargers throughout Europe, and more particularly in France. Tesla is outdoing itself where electric mobility is struggling to convince.
With the Tesla SuperchargersFor example, you can charge the Tesla Model 3 from 0 to 80 % and recover 491 km of range in less than half an hour.

With Tesla, you'll have no trouble finding a charging point
In France today, the number of charge points installed has far surpassed the number of service stations available. In 2018, there were no more than 15,000 petrol stations still in service, whereas at the start of 2022 there were more than 54,000 charge points open to the public.
And, as mentioned above, Tesla wants to make life easier for its users. In addition to extremely fast charging times, for a electric vehicleTesla makes it easy for customers to find their charging point.
In addition to the 54,000 charging points open to the public, there are also Tesla Superchargers. With this network, Tesla has the second largest network of fast-charging stations in Europe behind the Ionity. Tesla Superchargers can be found absolutely everywhere. At motorway service stations, in city centre car parks, in shopping centre car parks, and so on.
Tesla Models are equipped with technologies of the future
It's not news that Tesla's vehicles are hyper-futuristic and, above all, extremely well-equipped in terms of technology. With engineer and entrepreneur Elon Musk at the helm, it would have been hard to imagine any other direction.
A state-of-the-art on-board computer
Tesla vehicles are equipped with on-board computers that are ahead of their time in terms of functionality. In fact, these on-board computers can accommodate additional functions for another 4 to 5 years, according to estimates. Tesla regularly updates the technology in its vehicles.
For the moment, their electric cars include a screen showing the battery's charge level, and the various charging points and superchargers that you might come across on your journey, if necessary. The on-board computer calculates a route so that you don't run out of fuel on long journeys.
Monitoring system
Tesla cars also feature a 360-degree surveillance system based on on-board cameras in the central rear-view mirror and eight other cameras. This surveillance system is available in 2 levels, one of which is activated when there is external contact. An alert message then appears on the screen on the dashboard, informing the person responsible for activating the system that he or she is being filmed.
The second mode is activated when a break-in is detected, triggering a very loud alarm accompanied by very bright lighting and high-volume music. These modes can be activated from the car or the application linked to your vehicle.
Autopilot and assisted driving
Tesla is also renowned for its efficiency and innovation in Autopilot and computer-assisted driving. This device is capable of keeping you in the lane while adapting to the presence of other vehicles on the road. It respects the distances imposed by the highway code, and its unfailing responsiveness, which far surpasses that of an average human being, guarantees your safety even in emergency situations. The system is also there to capture your attention and redirect it to the road.
If it senses that your hands are moving away from the steering wheel, an audible signal will sound, asking you to put your hands back on the wheel. After several repeated alerts, if the requests made by the device are still not complied with, it will automatically bring the vehicle to a halt and switch on the hazard warning lights. The aim of this device is to detect possible discomfort at the wheel and to prioritise the safety of the driver and other road users.
Since the recent upgrades made by the American manufacturer, the system recognises a long list of additional objects compared with previous versions, such as :
- orange cones
- traffic lights
- bins
Tesla is all about comfort and discretion
When you buy a Tesla Model 3For example, the driving experience is totally different to that of a conventional combustion engine car. The sensations are lighter, you no longer feel the jolts that a combustion engine can cause, and inside the cabin, calm reigns.
This silence is felt (or not) both inside and outside the vehicle. Say goodbye to noise pollution that will make the whole neighbourhood squeal, or to the envious glances of pedestrians when you're driving a big muscle car. With Tesla, you'll go unnoticed in all circumstances (although be careful not to drive into a wall).
Buying a Tesla means access to a top-of-the-range product
As you will have gathered from the price of a Tesla model, the American firm is clearly positioning itself as a luxury brand. The price is not the only argument to confirm this positioning. Tesla offers a whole raft of services in line with this positioning to justify itself. Service isn't the only argument, of course; it's the product itself that's the main argument.
The Tesla Model S, for example, is the most sought-after top-of-the-range vehicle in the world, ahead of automotive giants such as BMW, Mercedes and Audi. But Tesla is also a top-of-the-range electric car at an affordable price, with its best-selling (and cheapest) model, the Tesla Model 3. The Tesla Model 3 has been available from €49,990 since 2022. It was previously priced at €43,990, but semiconductor shortages and delivery and production delays linked to the COVID crisis got the better of it.
Now there's no excuse not to choose one of the Tesla models!
